About Will & Marilyn

We are people who are definitely not couch potatoes. We are travelers, sailors, scuba divers, adventurers, "ham" amateur  radio operators, computer buffs and have a passion to explore, investigate & live new life experiences.  In the past, Will has owned and flown an ultra light float plane, been involved in various projects including the building of a " two thirds" scale helicopter to do aerial survey work. He has also been involved in putting up various ham radio repeater sites. We have both also owned businesses, however, Will now works only for Telus, building communications towers. Working for someone else allows a lot more free time to follow personal interests.

Marilyn had aspirations to travel from a very young age. She wanted to go to New Zealand after doing a project in grade 6 in school.  It was about 20 years before that dream came true.  Having a sister living in Whangarei, New Zealand made the dream doable, so in 1987 she made her first overseas trip which would be only the first of several trips to the "down under." She was really hit hard by "the bug" to see more & more & to experience different cultures throughout the world.  While staying with her sister in Whangarei she was privileged to go out in a sailboat for the first time. Needless to say - She was hooked!!  Now, her next dream was to find a "man" that was a scuba diver & also loved to sail.  No tall order at all.  Well, low & behold - She met the man of her dreams in 1993 & together they share the same love of life & adventure, wondering  what is around the next corner, over the next hill, or in the next bay.

A number of years ago Will came to realize that if the goal in his life was nothing, he would definitely achieve it.  Not being a person to do nothing he set some goals.  One of the goals is a desire to see the world.  Another goal was to achieve this in the least expensive way.  When he met Marilyn he had been on his own & also in search of someone to share his dreams & goals.  His opening line to her was "my dream is to have a 40' sailboat & sail the world & no one is going to stop me!"  Little did he know then, that Marilyn was not going to stop him, but, be by his side every step of the way to realize both of their dreams.
So...... when you put two people together that actually have some goals for their life, interesting things start to happen; traveling, buying a sailboat, buying a motor home, and just generally having a good life.
They are actively getting ready for retirement by traveling as much as they can, getting to know many different people & cultures.  They are also actively modifying the sailboat in preparation of their retirement date which is about May of 2010.
They believe that people are exactly where they want to be in life. If they did not want to be there, they would do something to change it.  They are where they want to be in life - traveling, meeting new friends, sailing, and generally having a good time.
