Marilyn's Corner of the World

Friends, you and me....
You brought another friend....
And then there were 3.
We started our group....
Our circle of friends....
And like that circle....
There is no beginning or end.
Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is mystery.
Today is a gift.     Eleanor Roosevelt

I am working for a large window & door company. My years of experience working in a variety of different occupations has come in handy working here. I never have a dull moment or suffer boredom.
Over the years I have developed a wonderful Circle of Friends.  Through them, I have learned many things.  This page is dedicated to my Special Friends.  I will share some of their talents with you.
I have been working in my "spare" time on building web sites other than our own. My most recent creation is for my friend, Eileen.

Eileen is an accomplished artist & hopes to sell her art work online. You can see a sample of her work at www.prosperityartconnection.com. She welcomes any buyers, questions or comments.

Even though Sheila lives in Alberta & I live in BC, we still keep in touch & when we talk to each other we can pick up where we left off in conversation whether it was a day ago or 3 months ago.  Sheila & her husband have had horses in their lives forever & have a "shop" established in their garage where they buy & sell new & used tack.

Their on line shop is: Happy Horse Used Saddles,

or snail mail is Box 7121, Alberta T7E 1V4

Margo - Sailor & author.  Margo has her boat, Ern, down the dock from ours. Margo & I have spent quite a bit of time together during the past year.  I was helping her to sell her Cruising Guides at the Seattle and Vancouver boat shows.  I also helped her with some computer work & updating of her Cruising Guides.  I look forward to going to some more boat shows with her in the coming season.

Marilyn & MarieMarie - Travel partner, B & B owner. I met Marie on one of our trips to Mexico a few years back.  We quickly became good friends.  We went with Marie & her husband Peter to Australia a couple of years ago. Recently, Marie & Peter have built a brand new house with a fully self-contained suite to serve as a Bed & Breakfast. They live right on the lakefront of Shuswap Lake just out of Salmon Arm, British Columbia. I designed a web site for them.

Take a look at it: www.lakesideonfraserbay.com.

Everyone is invited to contact them & book a get-away for some quiet R & R in this beautiful setting. You won't be disappointed!

Denise with Margo & me. I was helping Margo at the Vancouver Boat Show this past year & as I was standing there I heard someone call my name & ask if that was Marilyn. Indeed it was. I knew Denise when I lived in Alberta many years ago. Her children & mine went to school together also.  I had not seen Denise in years, so to have her recognize me in all of the hundreds of people was amazing.  We quickly got to talking again & found out that her & her husband were in Vancouver for the weekend taking in the boat show as they have a McGregor sailboat of their own. As we swapped stories & she learned of my lifestyle, she became even more interested in getting together with our husbands & doing a lot more talking. It seems that the lifestyle that we have is one that they had been discussing for themselves & were in the process of researching the possibilities. What a surprise to all of us to find that we had a lot in common. We are anxious to get them out on our sailboat in the ocean & show them our beautiful British Columbia coast.
